You know about Metroid (and those of you who don't, there is a time line at the bottom). One of the best series ever made.

Metroid- Most common of all Metroids. The standerd, but a force to reckon with. Most effective way of destroying it is to freeze the critter and launch a missle. Samus once had a Metroid thinking that it was it's mommy. It died, trying to save Samus. This form can be found wherever Metroids are found. Picture on the right is a metroid.
TALLON IV METROIDS The metroids found on Tallon IV were brought by the Space Pirates. The following are the different metroids found on Tallon IV.
Hunter Metroid- As metroids grow, they evolve. Hunter Metroids have bigger "craniums" and have an energy-syphon tentcle. Use the same technique as the Metroids to destroy.
Fission Metroid- Fission Metroids have the ability to split into two metroids. When it splits, the new offspring have invunerability to all but one weapon. The color of the new metroid is it's weakness. For example red is plasma, yellow is power, white is ice and purple is wave. These mutations seem to be because of the phazon on Tallon IV. The other forms can be found on SR388.

Alpha Metroid
Alpha Metroids shed their protective skin and evolve into a flying beetle-type creature. These present little problem, because five missles can destroy them.
Gamma Metroid
Alpha Metroids grow bigger and stronger, but they gain the ability to shoot lightning bolts. They need to have a ten missle feast to kill them.
Zeta Metroid
Gamma Metroids lose their exoskeleton and form a dragon-like creature that can spit fireballs. Their only weak spot is the head.
Omega Metroid
Omega Metroids are giants. The have razor sharp teeth and claws. They are impervious to all weapons except Ice Beam. The weak spot is the chest.
